Send Legislators Letter to Support Feeding Kansas
The Kansas Rural Center, along with partner organization Kansas Alliance for Wellness and other farm and food advocates met at the Capital March 4 to discuss with legislators the recommendations made in Feeding Kansas and how Kansas farms and communities can help improve Kansas’s economy and health status especially by growing more fruits and vegetables in the state.
The visit was covered in a few news outlets across the state. However, letting your legislators know that you support strengthening Kansas farms, communities, and the health of Kansans is critical.
Please consider sending an email or letter to your legislator, including a link to one of the news articles, so healthy local food production and access can be continually reinforced as an important issue.

We have provided a template of a letter you may choose to use. If you are not sure who or where to direct your letters, simply visit www.openkansas.org where you can easily find your legislators names, address, and email.
Note: This letter to lawmakers is NOT considered lobbying because there is no specific active legislation that you are discussing. You are simply providing suggestions and education on future legislative potential.
This work is part of KRC’s “Community Food Solutions for a Healthier Kansas” initiative that aims to advance seven key public policy solutions to better incorporate Kansas farms into the supply chain thereby potentially improving Kansas’s economy, community, environment, and health status.
