Labeling Laws : How to fulfill labeling requirements for produce, plants, & other plant products in Kansas
By Natalie Fullerton
The state and federal government have different labeling requirements for different types of plants and plant-based products. In general, labeling requirements for unprocessed plant food products are quite minimal, compared to processed foods or animal products. However, there are still some instances when even raw plant products require a label. This document focuses on plant-based products in general, and helps explain when a label is required, what information is needed, and the policies governing label claims.
