KRC Annual Conference

Wes Jackson, president and founder of The Land Institute, addresses KRC’s 2013 Farm and Food Conference, “Farming As If People Matter: How to Feed Ourselves, Build New Farms and Adapt to a Changing World.”

The KRC Annual Conference, held each November, is recognized as a must-attend event by anyone involved in farming, ranching, community food solutions or other work in advancing alternative systems. Past presenters have included Joel Brown, USDA range management specialist, on management strategies for climate change; New York University nutritionist Marion Nestle; and Wes Jackson, president and founder of The Land Institute.

In November 2012, KRC spearheaded the Healthy Farms, Healthy People Agriculture and Health Summit, which launched a dialogue in Kansas about issues at the intersections of health, public health, food and agriculture.
