
Food Safety for Specialty Crop Producers During & Post COVID-19

Please join the Kansas Rural Center for a free online event focusing on food safety for specialty crop growers.
This growing season is presenting new challenges and opportunities in many aspects of raising and marketing produce. While following food safety measures is always important, some extra precautions and practices during the current pandemic are necessary to ensure your safety and the safety of your customers. Our online event will include a virtual farm tour and a chance to hear from farmers across Kansas about changes they have made in response to the pandemic.
The event included, a virtual tour of Dan Kuhn’s farm and Depot Market , and a farmer panel led by Extension Food Safety Specialist, Londa Nwadike. The farm panel will feature: Susan Rommelfanger of Rommey Farms near Cassoday, KS, Jessi Asmussen of Mellowfields Farm near Lawrence, KS, and Dan Kuhn of Kuhn Family Farm near Courtland, KS.
