‘Farminar’ on Crop Insurance Features NCAT Agriculture Specialist
Jeff Schahczenski, Agriculture Policy and Funding Research Director with the National Center for Appropriate Technology, will present a “farminar” on Whole Farm Revenue Protection (WFRP), the evening of Tuesday, January 13. The farminar, sponsored by the Practical Farmers of Iowa, will also feature comments and questions by Tony Thompson, an Iowa beginning farmer and PFI member.
PFI Farminars provide practical information developed with and by producers and other agricultural experts. The free farminar is being coordinated with assistance from Midwest NCAT, as part of a Risk Management Education Partnership cooperative agreement through the USDA’s Risk Management Agency to educate producers in Iowa and the region about WFRP, a new crop insurance option that is available for the first time in Iowa in 2015.
The January 13 farminar will begin at 7 p.m. Central Standard Time and continue until 8:30 p.m.
