Ceres Trust Offers Pollinator Protection Support
The Kansas Rural Center has received a second year of support from the Ceres Trust for KRC’s Pollinator Protection Project. The $20,000 grant will help KRC to provide information and education on the harmful impacts of pesticides and chemical drift on pollinators, farming practices that protect pollinators from pesticides or that reduce or eliminate pesticide use, and strategies for minimizing or preventing pesticide damage on farms and in apiaries. The project will also focus on public policy and programs that support a diversified, ecologically based agricultural system that promotes pollinator health.
