Join Women, Food and Agriculture Network for our 2014 annual conference, Women Doing Democracy: Building Grassroots Coalitions to Grow Healthy Food and Farming in Your Community. The conference will kick-off with registration at 10 a.m. Friday, November 14, and end Saturday, November 15 at 4 p.m. Enjoy field tours, intensives, local food and a screening of Terra Firma on Friday.

On Saturday, listen to keynote speaker and New York City native Karen Washington of Black Urban Growers, speaking about Bridging the Urban-Rural Divide. After the keynote, choose which breakout sessions you’d like to attend. The conference will offer three concurrent options per session, on topics including air and water monitoring, coalition-building, livestock confinement activism, tenant-landlady relations, resources for female veteran farmers, the new farm bill, food safety regulations, and more. Diane Rosenberg will discuss anti-CAFO advocacy over lunch. More workshops after lunch, then close the conference with a community discussion and adjourn by 4 p.m.
