A Visit to Pioneer Bluffs
By Tracey Graham, KRC’s Our Local Food – Twin Rivers coordinator
I’ve been meaning to visit Pioneer Bluffs in the beautiful Flint Hills for a couple of years now, and finally had the irresistable excuse this past weekend. Doc and I drove out for a show opening at the art gallery there, and boy did we see some beautiful stuff! And we ran into some friends. And we saw the garden. And we generally got a feel for what a wonderfully special place Pioneer Bluffs is!
|In the Pioneer Bluffs parking lot: An old-style Our Local Food bumper sticker!
Note to car owner – contact me and I’ll get you a new one with the updated OLF logo!
|In the Pioneer Bluffs gift shop: Local jam made from local fruit by Our Local Food – Twin Rivers members Bill and Diane Ihling of Buffalo Hollow Farm!|

If you haven’t yet made the trip to Pioneer Bluffs, there are lots of special events, so you’re bound to be enticed by that irresistable excuse to visit sooner or later! There’s a volunteer work day every first Saturday of the month, and there’s a wide variety of things that need doing. See the Pioneer Bluffs website, their facebook page, and/or send an email to directorLynn Smith to sign up for their newsletter for details. For gallery news, see the website, facebook and/or contact gallery manager Ans Zoutenbier.
